We're proud to be associated with 350.org to bring you this custom cycling kit. Designed by Sheehan Graphic Design and made in Italy by Capo, this limited edition kit is a clean, classic design made to bring increase awareness of 350.org and its mission to solve the climate crisis we currently face.
As cyclists we wrestle with our own contributions to climate change. Cycling is, by its nature, an environmentally friendly activity. However, so much of what goes into the sport of cycling can have unfortunate side-effects on our environment: The manufacturing process and supply lines of the products we consume, transportation to and from race/ride venues: all contribute quantities of CO2 to the atmosphere and so affect climate change; all are worthy of evaluation. It's this sort of reflection we try to apply to our own daily activities and which Embrocation contributor Andrew Gardner discusses regularly in his column.
350.org is at the vanguard of this movement . It's a grassroots effort led by Bill MicKibben with the purpose of addressing climate issues by educating and affecting change in ways small and large, all with the intention of curbing human-made carbon dioxide emissions. Recently this group has been making headlines for their "Do the Math Tour." You can see more on this and ways you can be involved at 350.org.
We consider ourselves athlete activists and are selling this kit to help raise awareness of 350.org and contribute to its cause. This is not a political statement - it's a way to self-reflect on how our sport and our lifestyle affects our environment, and what actions we can make to curb our impact.
We offer Capo-made short sleeve jerseys as well as bib shorts for men and standard shorts for women. Sizing and and inventory are limited. Tops and bottoms are sold separately, but we offer a 10% discount for jersey and bib sold together as a kit. A large portion of the proceeds from this project will be donated toward 350.org and its various programs.
