From our latest contributing photographer, Whit Bazemore, from Bend, Oregon.
One of the things we love about poring over the collections of pictures we get from our various freelancers is how different every photo essay is. Here we have a collection of images with a decidely human emphasis; a reminder that the mud we worship, and the bikes we fetishize, are worth little without the very real passion of the very real people who do the pedaling, and the grimacing. To Danny Summerhill, Zack McDonald, Todd Wells, Ryan Trebon, Adam Craig, Katie Compton, Mo’ Bruno Roy, and Sue Butler, we say thanks for keeping it real. Thanks, of course, to Whit for sharing his vision with us.
