Volume 6 Update
First and foremost we owe it to you, our readers, to give you an update on the status of Volume 6. The short answer is that all back-orders of Volume 6 should be in the mail within the next week. That’s all you need to know. Here’s a little expounding on the above statement: As much as Embrocation has grown over the past year (due in most part to the support of our loyal customers and sponsors, thank you VERY much) we still find ourselves a relatively small fish in the large pond that is the world of print media. Our efforts to keep our printing contracts domestic and local, while ethically right and emotionally gratifying, have rewarded us also with delay after delay, as our promised delivery dates are pushed back in favor of our printers’ larger contracts. It’s you, our supportive readers, that suffer as a result and it’s something for which we apologize sincerely. Rest assured, Volume 6 is complete, done and ready for pickup. Shortly, all that’s left for you to do is enjoy.
We’re in the process of undertaking some serious updates to our website, including our store section. You’ll notice that amongst the sub-sections on the store is something called Service Course. Our team program gives us access to a wide array of great products and our Service Course section will be a place for us to sell some of the products that our team uses and loves. As of today, we’re featuring our Baileyworks bags and a selection of cyclocross tires from Challenge. Over the next few months we’ll be expanding this section as we bring on more items to support the our team. We’re dipping our toes into the great ocean that is online bicycle parts retail, but will only be selling those products that we ourselves use day in and day out and about which we can speak intelligently and honestly.
The Cyclocross Meeting DVD
Japan, more specifically cyclocross in Japan, has been an issue of note around here at Embrocation the last few weeks. Our friend and Embrocation distributor in Japan, Daisuke Yano, is hosting a cross race this weekend that we were dying to go to. Alas, Japan is just a bit far off for us right now, so we’ll have to content ourselves with this DVD. The Cyclocross Meeting, a film by Brian Vernor, is a film devoted to portraying cyclocross culture here in the United States, and also ventures into the realm of a healthy and growing cross scene in Japan. Of course, all this is done in Vernor’s beautiful filmmaking style, thus making this movie a repeat watching favorite. We’ve decided to pick up this product because we feel it’s squarely in our wheelhouse and it’s the right time of year.
Rouleur, Issue 20
The 20th issue of Rouleur just arrived on our shores and we’re pleased to be offering this publication to US customers. It’s everything we’ve come to expect form the Brits at Rouleur. I could go on and on, but I think the best thing to do is to buy one and peruse it yourself – you’ll not be disappointed.
We now have a whole new section of our site devoted to our stockists. As Embrocation grows, we form more and more relationships with stocking dealers around the globe. Most of these dealers are high-end bicycle shops, and since all of here at Embrocation have a long history as shop rats, we feel a special, kindred connection to these purveyors of our goods. Also on our stockist list, you’ll find some of our favorite boutique book and print publication stores. Take a look and if you’re in close proximity to any of these fine establishments you owe it to yourself to check them out.
And if you’re reading this and own or manage a business that would like to become a stockist, please contact us.
