This is a new section for us. We at Embrocation have always made photography and bicycle racing a little bit of a priority. With that in mind we will be continuing this series of race photography. Starting with some glorious shots of the Gran Prix of Gloucester Day One and Two by Chris Milliman.
One of the great elements of Milliman’s photography is his ability to convey an almost instantaneous intimacy with his subjects. In most cases it is because he has come to personally know each and every one of these riders. He can get close to them when they are training, warming up, preparing for the days racing. But the curious and exciting bit is to see the familiarity of the races and racers through the eye of Mr. Milliman.
Aside from being a hired gun within the bike and fashion industries, Milliman is also one of our Embrocation Cycling Journal racers. He likes his socks like he likes his bikes — tall and white. He also has a thing for Dugast tires (might have made that up). If you are looking for prints of Chris’ work you can find two of them here on the site of covers 3 and 4 of Embrocation. For others, contact him directly via his website.
